rebound acid
My 11 month old baby has been on 15 mg Prevacid 2x/ day now for 2 weeks. (an increase from 15 mg 1x/ day) He seemed like it was helping but now things are worse again. I called the dr. this morning and nurse said it could be rebound acid if his dose is too high. I'm thinking maybe 1 1/2 tabs daily would be the hot ticket? Any thoughts on this and how to get his dosing right?

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
Are you certain nothing else is going on? Ears, teeth, virus, etc. I know as a reflux mom I always went straight to blaming Reflux for "issues" and tended to forget that they have other every day kid health stuff going on sometimes. I'd wait it out a few days before I made any changes.
