reflux worse at different times of day??Just wondering if anyone has noticed that reflux is worse at any particular time of day? My 9-month old has a rough time getting to sleep at bedtime and I'm trying to decipher if that is why or if he just has some funky sleep habits I need to work on ;)
He goes down pretty decent for naps, but wakes repeatedly at bedtime, usually taking at least 30-60 minutes to actually be asleep. I feel that he is pretty happy most days and that the 15 mg (1x/day) he is on is taking care of things, but I do wonder sometimes with the way bedtime goes!
The only other thought I have is maybe it has to do with his medication timing. He takes the prevacid mid-afternoon after his longest nap of the day and then goes to bed at 8:00. Well that is when my husband or I start trying anyway! Thanks for ideas/ thoughts on this one!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
|Many kids struggle more at night. Have you tried changing the timing to the evening?|

Mom to two refluxers. DS 4.5 years, on prevacid since 5 weeks. Trial wean this summer...fail. Intolerant of dairy and soy DD born Nov 2010. Currently on zegerid. Had stomach malrotation & surgery at 9 months. Avoiding dairy/soy with her while BFing.
|My refluxers have always had a hard time getting to sleep for naps and bedtime. Maybe try to look at your bedtime routine or see if it correlates to being too full from a feeding before bed. Do they go to sleep on their own? Waking up spiting up, burping, arching, generally fussy? I had to bounce my oldest on a yoga ball til he was nearly one to get him to sleep. Once he started to get his reflux more under control with age, sleep got much better.|
