anyone seeing a doc in indianapolis, IN who actually follows marci kids recommendations
My son is getting ready to turn 7 months old. He has never had more than a 5 or 6 good days in a row the entire time he has had reflux. We have been seeing a ped gi doc the last few months. Currently he is on 22.5 mg a day of prevacid solutab, 3ml of zantac twice a day and 1.25 tbls of lactalose twice a day. He weights 18lbs. He had yet another flare up last week so i called the gi and asked about increasing his prevacid to 30mg, which is what the marci kids website says his dose minimum should be. He said that he doubted it would help and to increase the zantac to 3ml. We had previously been on 2.7. We have typically had to increase the zantac every couple weeks. I did this with no change. Two days later I call back and ask about the prevacid again. This time he says to increase his laxative to 1.5tbsp twice a day and i could give him 1tsp of mylanta every 4 hours. At our last appt he said himself that once he was on enough prevacid we should be able to wean off the zantac, which clearly we cant. So tonight I cant take anymore and i started him on 30mg. We also started seeing a chiropractor last week. What I am wanting to know is does anyone see a doc affiliated with the marci kids? We live in indianapolis, IN if anyone knows a doc here who actually listens to the marci kids recommendations I would love to know.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. There is a mom in Indy that use to be on the boards a lot. She will be a great help. She does the caracream from Marci Kids like I do. Her doc is On board with it. I will send her a note on FB and have with check in with her docs info.

Awesome! Thanks so much. We tried the prevacid 24 hour with caracream once about 3 months ago and he had the worst day he has ever had. Otherwise I would have gone that route. Maybe I should try it again.

I would consider trying it again. It could have been a total coincidence. Plan on him being gassier for 10 days... Have the Mylicon on hand. Its his body getting use to digesting with out so much acid in the stomach. After 10 days that will subside. Another option is the Caracream Max. Its calcium based and some are finding it has less gas effect.

She did. She said she will check in this weekend. If she does not check I'm by tomorrow night I ask her who her son's ped is and forward it on to you.
