2 MO OLD IN PAIN:(
OK, SO MY 2 MONTHS OLD SON IS HAVING REFLUX ISSUES. POOR THING IS NOW ON ZANTAC AND WE ARE GOING TO TRY ELECARE. WE'VE ALREADY HAD A PH PROBE STUDY AND IT SHOWED MINIMAL ACID. I DISAGREE. THIS BABY IS IN SO MUCH PAIN BUT HE IS GAINING WEIGHT AND SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT. WE ADD RICE CEREAL TO HIS FORMULA, IF WE DIDNT, IT WOULD BE PROJECTILE VOMITING. I REALLY DONT WANT THIS BABY ON SO MANY MEDICINES AND IT HURTS SO MUCH HAVING TO SEE HIM LIKE THIS. I DO HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD THAT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH GERD, WE DIDNT FIND OUT UNTIL HE WAS 1. YES, I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE BUT I REFUSE TO LET THIS CHILD GO THROUGH WHAT MY FIRST CHILD HAD TO GO THROUGH. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS ARE WELCOMED. I AM WILLING TO TRY ANYTHING THAT WE ARE ACTUALLY SEEING A NAET DOCTOR. I DO BELIEVE THIS CHILD DOES HAVE ALLERGIES AND IM SURE THE ALLERGIES ARE CAUSING ALOT OF DISCOMFORT!!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
I completely understand your worry about meds but the alternatives of pain and damage to his ears, nose and throat out weighs that. My 2 cents... skip the Zantac and change to a PPI. Smart move on investigating the food allergy component.

NEOCATE being provided as part of study in Houston
Hello, I am replying to your post since you discussed elecare. Neocate is another formula that's given to Milk protein allergic babies. We have a clinical study on Neocate for infants in which it will be supplied free of cost during the study. The study will also follow your child's development over 16 weeks. The Doctor's visits and study procedures would also be free of cost. Its being done in Houston, Texas. If you want more information on this please call DM Clinical Research at 281-517-0550 and ask for Dione
