Help Is ther an endMy son has GERD. He is now 8 months old. The GI Dr said the puking should get better at 6 month to a year. Has anyone seen an end to this? My son pukes from feeding to feeding. I'm at my wits end. Please help. Thank you

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
|I wish they wouldn't get people's hopes up like that. Some get over it at 6 months but many don't see improvement till after their first birthday. Some longer. Have you ruled out food allergies? Is he otherwise happy and feeds well?|

|My son is 4 and a half and just had to go back on a PPI (Prevacid) from an H2 blocker (Axid). That made me very sad, but he is already saying it is helping, so that made me very happy. ;-) |
As far as puking many times per day....Have you had a Gastric Emptying Scan done to see if his tummy empties fast enough? Have you tried any meds for motiilty of the stomach to make food move through his system faster?

|My son stopped spitting up at about 18 months, but continued to have silent reflux (and still does at 4). Does your LO seem to be in pain, or is your concern mostly one of volume (or both, or something additional)?|

|He was in pain, they put him on prevacid. The pain is mostly gone, seems to hurt 2 times a month. Growth is good so the Dr said just have to deal with the puking. Sometimes it is from feeding to feeding others just alittle. We got lucky he stopped puking after going to bed. Changed formulas changed food makes no differance. He is a very happy baby but is starting to say yukk when it happens. We have been to the GI DR he didn't run any tests. He is up to 21 lbs and wears a size 18. I still worry even though he is growning good.
