has anyone had prevacid stop working? My 6 1/2 yr old has been on prevacid for several years after we did trial and many tribulations of other meds. It seems like reflux has reared its ugly head lately. She complains she has "belly aches" and made the comment today that her throat hurts. When i asked her just today and she said no it hurted a lot when i sleep at night. she has pdd so getting something out of her can be hard. has anyone here had the prevacid poop out per say after a lengthy time on it Thanks

|My son is 8 1/2 and is on 30mg Prevacid..has been on it since he was 5. Right now we've been dealing with a long flare (2+months) and we're not sure if we need the med dose increased or switch to a new medicine. What does the GI say? We're waiting for the results to come back from the PH Impedance Probe and then we'll make some decisions I guess. Our symptoms are more congestion, throat clearing, cough....not GI pain.|

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
|Have you considered using a different brand. Perhaps her body it just maxed out on Prevacid since she has been on it so long. I would try Zegrid. I have seen a lot of people have success with that. Insurance should cover it since she would would considered a "fail" with prevacid. If not, you can buy the capsules over the counter, open them, add water and a packet of caracream from www.refluxsolutions.com. It's fairy cheap and very effective. ||Check with your
