Prevacid SolutabsHello All--I've mentioned my son Henry on here before, and after his continued weight loss my pediatrician finally agreed to refer us to a Pediatric GI specialist. I LOVED HER!!!!! Henry is now eating some solid foods and we have increased the calories in his bottles. He is also on the Prevacid Solutabs now (rather than the suspension).
Here is my question, we are disolving the solutabs in water at this point. He takes it much better than the suspension, but the beads still get everywhere. People have metioned BabyBuffer and other products. How do these work? What are the advantages? Where do I get them? I've looked on marci-kids, but haven't found them. I may just be looking in the wrong place!
Thank you all so much for this site. It has truly helped educate me about reflux. I work in early intervention, and we always talk about empowering our parents. This site does just that!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
Hello! If you want to continue with the solutabs you can try dissolving in his cheek vs in water first. It dissolves fast. As far as the caracream goes, I think it is the best invention ever. Walking bill board..... I know. You get it from Marci-kids retail site www.refluxsolutions.com. I like the caracream z best. You mix it with over the counter zegrid. It's so easy.

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
we had no luck putting them in Z's cheek...he just gagged and gagged, but we dissolved them in a little water, drew it into a syringe (infant motrin syringe), shot it into his cheek and blew on his face (always makes them swallow)...that worked fine...when we let him try it out of a cup the beads never all made it in...it sucked. Good luck!

Same problem with the solutabsHi there - I was reading your post about prevacid and am having the same problem with my 7 week old son Cameron. I have a syringe from CVS that seems to get clogged with the granules. Is there something different about the motrin dropper?

Noah 6 years
Paige almost 4 (GERD graduate!)
Soren 11 weeks - (GERD, Soy and Dairy sensitive) 15mg prevacid + 2mg zantac
we've been dissolving in Soren's cheek or on the roof of his mouth. He gets half at a time so I try to soften it first by letting him lick it (he loves the taste) then move my finger to the roof of his mouth and he will suck on my finger like a pacifier.
