New here - Help please
My son is 2.5 months old and has been suffering from acid reflux since he was 3 weeks old. Prevacid solutabs were prescribed first. We didn't see much improvement in the 2 weeks that he was on prevacid and hence switched to Prilosec. The pharmacist made the suspension for us. The dosage is 3ml each time, two times a day. This is the 3rd week of Prilosec. We see some improvement but my son hates taking the medicine. I stretch his cheek and put my finger between his gums in the back the mouth so he can't spit the medicine out. And then my husband slowly drops the medicine with syringe. My son doesn't like all this and cries really hard. Is there a better way to give the medicine? Without putting the finger between the gums, he spits out all the medicine. I saw that Caracream, Buffer babies, Chocobase are mentioned a lot here. What are they? Are they available in any pharmacy, in general? I breasfeed my son. I try to burp him midway and sometimes he spits up along with the burp. When that happens , should I continue with feeding or stop it because it may bring more milk. Right now, I am stopping when that happens. We are also giving him Biogaia probiotic drops. We are giving 5 drops a day to him with spoon. But I am not sure how much is going into him. Fellow Biagaia users, please let me know how you are giving it to your babies.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
Hi and Welcome!

The easy stuff first... to do a paragraph key in the less than sign < the letter P and the more than sign >. It still doesnt taste the best, salty carmel to me, but after a week of forcing it down my son he would open up like a bird when he saw it coming and he wanted to lick the cap. He loves it. He figured out really quick that the white stuff in the syringe made him feel better quick. So when he needed it, he would crawl to the fridge and pull at it.
