OTC same as prescription-good for kids also
Just wanted to clarify for some of you wondering about this. Just because a med goes OTC, doesn't mean the formula changes, it is the same thing. I actually have my son's Pediatrician write a script for the OTC meds and the pharmacy fills it for me off their shelf. That way my medical card will work for it, but when I've run out, I just buy it OTC for my son. Of course they don't have the liquids, but you can crush the pills and mix w/ applesauce or whatever. Our Pediatrician is happy to keep prescribing for us. He says there is no need to keep seeing the GI unless there is a problem or another scope needed, course if you want to keep seeing the specialist, and like him, why not?

Interesting. So are you saying OTC Prevacid is the same thing as solutabs, just a different form or are there slight differences?

It's the same medicine, but in a capsule. I don't know if they make the solutab yet, but you can open the capsule and mix it in applesauce. If you're not sure if it's the same thing, a pharmacist will confirm it.
