HELP! PPI friendly ped in Chicago (Oak Park) area?Hello all,
I took a quick look through the forums, but didn't see anyone address this, at least, not recently.
Does anyone know of a PPI-friendly (for kids under 1 year) pediatrician in the Oak Park or Chicago area? We are willing to travel for the right doc.
Both my children have GERD. My oldest turned 2 this past Saturday, and his younger brother turned 6 months a day later. We recently moved to the Chicago area (Oak Park) from California. My oldest has been on Prevacid solutabs with great success for over a year. His California pediatrician is willing to continue prescribing them for him, for the time being, at least.
We have found a pediatrician in Illinois who is willing to prescribe Zantac (ranitidine) for my youngest son, but she indicates that she is not willing to prescribe a PPI for him until he is 1 year old. We have started the Zantac, but I fear what will happen when he develops a physical tolerance for it. I can't handle (and don't want to put him through) another 6 months of screaming through the night.
Any input is welcome! Thanks!
