better poop?!
Can someone offer advice on how to 'improve' the consistency of my dd's poop?!

She's 95% gtube fed pediasure and her poop is not solid (enough) for her to have any control/sensation and she wants to learn to go on the potty--not to mention we'd love solid/formed poop diapers instead of the squishy messes she always has.

So, fiber-right? But what kind? soluble? insoluble? in what forms-keeping in mind it'll have to go through her gtube.

benefiber? metamucil? other suppplements? try blending foods?

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
Benefiber can be mixed into formula and run through the tube. Just make sure you mix it well.

FWIW it's hard to get their poops semi solid because G tube fed kids are on a mostly liquid if not all liquid diet. Makes them soft and sometimes runny.

Oh and yes, we have put baby food through the tube before. I'm headed out to work, but can tell you more later about that. It worked well for him.
