ooops
Sleep deprivation! Hi, I'm Michelle. I was "here" 4 years ago when my daughter had reflux and am back because my 10 week old has reflux now too. He was on Zantac and it didn't help at all so we switched to prevacid 15mg/day (solutabs) it's the generic version of it so I don't know if that makes a difference. Anyway - he is doing much much much better during the day which is fantastic but night time is still horrible :( I have to hold him upright and pat him for ~ 2 hours after every feeding so once he wakes up once the night is basically shot. I've tried having him sleep in the swing or carseat but the problem is when he refluxes it jolts him awake so that didn't help. I basically prop myself up in bed with a bunch of pillows, put the boppy around my waist to help keep him up and pat with my right arm every time he jolts. That keeps him sleeping but keeps me up of course. We were doing the prevacid just 1x a day (the whole 15mg) b/c he eats so frequently it's hard to find a time to give it in the evening but I'm trying 1/2 a dose am and pm today. We haven't seen a GI this time but I'm pretty sure he has DGE because he still spits up 2.5 hours after eating. I've been doing the zantac at night still but it's not helping. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could splitting up the dose help???? Michelle and Soren

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
The swing and carseat were really rough on Ryan's stomach. The thing that worked best for him was the Fisher Price Soothing Motions Glider. Life Saver!!!! Perfect angle, no stomach scrunching and flat side to side motion. Kind of spendy but worth it. Maybe you can find one on Craigs list.
