My son Levi is 13 weeks old. We figured out he has reflux @ 2 weeks. We have tried 4 different formuls (Currently Neocate) and he is taking Pepcid, Prevacid, Mylanta, Grip Water
food ideas for multiple food allergies? My son has hit six months and im slowly adding solids. I wanted to start solids more towards 7 or 8 months but he is loosing weight so i was advised to start now.
He just had a terrible reaction to oatmeal (hives, vomitting diahhrea) so the doctor wants me to remove that untill he is a year old. Im going to start him on avacado this week, but my question is do you know of any teething biscuits or puffs that do not contain Milk, Soy (including soy lechtin) Egg, and Oatmeal? He is teething and liked to eat Healthy Belly puffs but they have oat flour in them :( The only thing that he has been able to eat and not react to so far is Organic Brown Rice (besides his formula neocate)

|If food allergies are a concern, adding food may cause weight lose. KWIM.....I'd try to up the amount of ounces you are getting in of formula per day to help with the weight gain. You can also ask if you can mix the formula thicker, Jedd was on 27 cal formula from about 7 weeks until put on a toddler formula which was 30 cal per ounce. |
I know that most baby foods and such have a really low amount of cals in them. We boosted for the longest time to get Jedd's cals where they should be to get him to gain weight.
That's why I'm not soo sure about adding in spoon solids to boost weight gain.
We added oils and butter, the real stuff, to all the baby foods we gave him per his Cardios request.

|Check out the Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers forum on the Kids with Food Allergies site.
This board has been super helpful to me! There are some very experienced moms of kids with MFAs.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
|I am with Jessica. I would be really hesitant to add spoon foods until you can get your ounces of formula intake up. That is where you will get your calories from. Baby foods have so little calories and it fills them up so they drink less. That is great for a normal thriving baby not not so much for a child that is falling behind. Ask about a calorie booster instead. I used Duocal with Ryan... but he was not MSPI and I dont recall if it has any ingredients in that that would not suit Levi. Please read the label first. I got it at Medicap Pharmacy. http://www.myduocal.com/info/index.asp||Check with your
