2 year molars
Kavya is teething (the dreaded 2 year molars) and the nights have just been awful. I am giving her Tylenol which isn't helping much. She is so congested at night and I pretty much have to hold her upright most of the night for her to get any sleep. I have increased the Prevacid+BB but it hasn't made much of a difference. Looks like we just have to ride it out. How long does it take for all 4 molars to appear? I see one half way out so far.

Lorenzo b.4/25/07 1 week in NICU w/ aspirate pneumonia from a reflux episode; diagnosed GERD at 9weeks; Used Zantac for 5months. Currently using Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy. GERD, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sensory Processing Disorder. Ask me about breastfeeding a refluxer! Pic: day 5 in the NICU. sorry... We never did find anything that helped much with the drama of the 2 year molars. I suspect that the length of time it takes varies from child to child. It always took Lorenzo a very long time to get a tooth out, and for him, the 2 year molars took over 5 months -- 5 months of extreme insomnia, reflux, an aspiration, apnea episodes and just general crankiness. It was not fun. The good news is, I can tell you now that we are standing on the other side, it does, eventually pass....

I don't know if it would have helped with teething, as we were not doing it at the time, but we have had some pretty awesome success with aromatherapy and essential oils lately -- especially lavender with chamomile for calming, and eucalyptus oil for congestion. I mix them with lotion or oil and rub them into my hands at bedtime, and I also put a few drops on his bed frame or on the stuffed dog he likes to sleep with.
