Feel screwed by Reflux Solutions
I have to air this out everywhere. Because it is eating at me every day. They gave me a free intro kit to use with Nexium capsules (Caracream Max). I had to pay for those because they are not covered for me. This was after terrible colic gas on CCZ that they sent the free intro kit (I'd say.... 3 weeks ago??). However, the instructions I got were wrong. Dr Phillips over there eventually clarified that the caracream packet needed to be added immediately to the mixture and not to wait or it will clump (as happened to me, and no knife was separating it, no amount of waiting, nothing at all!). But the instructions said to wait 15 minutes. And I ended up losing both the kit and the 8 pills (at nearly $7 per pill). I kept writing and writing. Never heard anything back. I am actually getting more upset by this as time goes on because I'd *like* to try buffer babies as calcium bicarbonate doesn't work for our son and Prilosec at 45mg did nothing for reflux and one of them gave him eczema (he is MSPI). I emailed today and even though I have read Dr P say they will give the free intro kits if you ask, David said no, they do not. I thought MARCI and RS were affiliates, Dr P did get my CCM and CCZ intro kits to me. Dr P at one point did offer to refund all the money I spent on their products, not what I wanted, just wanted BB. I'm really put off. They don't list any sort of guarantee so I guess 'buyer beware' but I really think they should have done something small for the lost pills at $56 themselves. David is a great guy over there. Talked to him on the phone about shipping in case I do decide to get that urgent need for something. But I am still really put off and want to air this out everywhere to get some input. We started him on Nexium 40mg a day, half capsule 2x w/juice until our RX for the packets gets approved. The 45 minute screaming is unbearable but he is happier in 1 freekin day I can't believe it. A new child in one day, and they say 2 weeks.... But if the local compound won't do the correct solution and do it weekly for me I am at a loss as the packets are going to be the same screamfest. His reflux colic screaming lasted the same amount of time as this twice a day dosing then wait to eat screaming. Please input! Anyone else have a problem?

So so sorry you've had a bad experience and feel like you've lost money and time. Fighting for our children is draining and being patient is something I think I'm worse at now more than ever! I use Buffer Babies with Prevacid so I'm not sure of the clumping issue you described. I've not had a problem with the system or Dr. Phillips. Everyone has been sympathetic and really nice. Hope you get what you need soon!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
I am sorry to hear you have had issues. My expirience with them has be excellent. Hang in there with them. If their Caracream is the answer for your child like it was for my son, it will be more than worth it.

To update, I have not gotten a response from the phone calls or emails by either Reflux Solutions or Dr Phillips. What jerks! I am going to call MU about it because I am disabled and on a fixed income, throwing $60 out the window is not fun for me. I'm telling my pedi who will recommend their stuff and can warn patients about it. The CCMax made my sons MSPI flair and off of it the eczema patch went away. 45mg Prilosec and CCM didn't do anything for him whatsoever. Nexium is a god send, we will live with the powder packets as medicaid is covering them for the baby since we did try everything else. 30 mins or 1 hour seems to make no difference for us, it works miracles either way. 4 days he had to be off meds because I could not be there and it was an emergency situation. Terrible, and 1st day back on Nexium at least 1x a day he is a new man all over. I will swear by this stuff until the day I die. And heck, Dr Phillips tried to convince me my experience with Nexium would not differ from Prilosec because he thinks they're the same exact thing. Nexium is Prilosecs more potent half, I wouldn't jump right to it, even my pedi's office says it is used as a last resort because it is the strongest. But man do I regret putting it off and not just giving the caps with juice at least 3 weeks prior... I would pay OOP again if I had to.

Wow, that's not been our experience at all. David has been absolutely amazing at getting back to us, even right before going on vacation. He has made calls and dealt with emails right away even though I've made screw ups on order forms that have consumed more of his time, yet he's always been incredibly fast and pleasant. He is an angel. I am so incredibly grateful to the RS folks. I don't get the sense that they are making much profit, either; I think they are motivated by trying to help kids suffering with reflux. Thank goodness there are still people like that left in this world!
