Allergies - A Survey
I just wanted to do an informal survey here...

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that K very likely has a severe MSPI and possibly an allergy to corn too. Because neither me, my husband, or anyone in either of our families has a history of allergies of any kind.

Those of you with kids with allergies, do you or other family members also have allergies? I am wondering whether these types of allergies are usually inherited - or if they're just fairly common in kids, no matter what the family history is.

We don't have any traces of GERD, seasonal allergies or heart defects or birth defects in our family and we landed all four in one.

yes, it can be passed through the genes onto our children, but it's not always the case.

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
I had a severe MSPI as a child which I outgrew about 7 years old. Zack comes by that honestly. BUT he is way more sensetive than I ever was.

I have no allergies...but my husband and his side of the family have mostly inhalant. Which still doesn't explain Max's MSPI.
