Probiotic Recommendations?
I've heard that K needs to be taking a probiotic since she's on the PPI. (Stomach acid kills bacteria, but PPI kills stomach acid...)

I think I read that someone on here recommends the BioGia probiotic drops, but I looked them up and apparently they may contain trace amounts of milk protein.

Since K is allergic to milk protein we'll need to stay away from those...anyone have any other recommendations?

Someone told me about Udo's infant blend but I checked and that also says "traces of milk and soy." Also, it says Keep Refrigerated but I see it sitting outside on the Whole Food shelf (does that make the cultures ineffective?).

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Did you get a chance to look at the brands in the fridge? If you cant find one, the kids version of Culturelle is dairy and gluten free. It comes in individual packets and is flavor free but its not a refrigerated brand. Good luck hunting.

Thanks, I did see that Culturelle is dairy-free. I will ask the GI if he thinks that's a good one on Wednesday or if there is a better option. God, I hope this GI knows what he's doing because I have a lot of questions and very high expectations!

Good luck tomorrow! Write down your guys and write down what has been going on in a date line if possible. Stick to the facts and check your emotions at the door. The Specialtist tend to take us moms more seriously when we are cool, calma and business like. Let us know how it goes!!

probiotics
Just wanted to let you know my daughter for the past 7 years has been off and on meds. I finally took her off and she has been doing great on probiotics alone for the past 4 months.

I couldn't find any in-store brands other than Culturelle that are dairy free, so I bought these packets today. The GI nurse says that's the one they recommend a lot anyway.

I guess I'm a little nervous to add something else into Kylie's routine...is there such a thing as too many probiotics? I ask only because her formula supposedly also contains the Lactobacillus GG ("Nutramigen with LGG")...I don't suppose giving her the additional probiotics will do any harm?

Melisa, what probiotic brand do you have your daughter on?

Check with your
