finally eating - almost one year old!!Alejandro is finally able to tolerate certain foods! He doesn't get a nasty rash all over his body after a spoonful of rice. After talking to many allergists/gi (maybe too many!) here is what is working: he is neocate, he is not on prevacid anymore (yeah!!!)he eats a very liquid home-made zuchinni, potato, barely, rice, quinoa, tapioca, peach, pear OR apple compote/soup (starting with little bits and waiting a week to feed him that again).
Not everything is working that well, he has been cranky and having trouble sleeping (up 3 or 4 times), could it be that Atarax is causing him anxiety? is his sudden ability to eat too exciting? The dr said atarax will make him sleep better but it has been 3 wks and he is sleeping worse, he can eat but he can't sleep. He takes 3ml Atarax at night and he is on 5ml of Zyrtec in the morning. Any thoughts?

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
|Can you tell us why Alejandro was put on Atarax? I have never heard of that being used in young children. |

|I am not at all familiar with Atarax, but I do know that my son was one of those kids who can do one exciting development at a time -- with everything else stalling out or going down the toilet. When he started eating solids, at about 2 years, he stopped growing and erupting teeth. When he is erupting teeth, he stops sleeping, eating and growing. When he is growing, he stops sleeping and only gains weight OR height, but rarely both. In his case, sleep is always the first thing to go by the wayside...||Check with your
