lorenzomama/cranio sacral therapy
Lorenzomamma, Thank you for the recommendation on the book Craniosacral Therapy for Babies and Small Children. Almost finished reading. Just located a therapist in my area and spoke with her yesterday. Have an appointment scheduled next week for an hour for our daughter. She has done work on infants and toddlers before and is Upledger certified. She said that her touch is as a light as a nickle in the palm of your hand. Said she has had good luck treating reflux. I am hoping for that and help with Adeline's sleep issues. Any questions that I sould ask? Would love your input and advice. Many thanks. Lindy

I'm so glad to hear that the book was helpful to you and that you have found a practitioner. Our Pulmonologist reiterated at our last appointment how much improvement he has seen in many infants/children with reflux using cranio-sacral...

As far as questions for the practitioner go -- I felt that the most important thing initially was the rapport between the practitioner and my son. We were fortunate to find someone who clicked well with him, and we saw results within a few visits in the form of a new ability to relax his body and rest, which had been a problem from the start. It took a little getting used to just how light the touch is -- it isn't always obvious that anything at all is happening, so it takes a bit of faith. For us it was a 'can't-hurt-might-help' undertaking, and we saw quickly enough that it was helping with some of his issues.

Best of luck to you -- I'd love to hear how it goes!
