Low intake of Milk
I know i asked this question before. My daughter's intake of milk has now been lower than ever. She is 5 months old and is drinking about 12-14 oz a day. This is very low, she has never been this low before. Just wondering if any mothers out there has their feeding log and can refer back to when they're baby was 5 months old and how much milk they were intaking and was it with cereal, jar food or just milk? Did it increase at 6 months?

Low intake of milk
I looked back at our logs. In the 5th month, we changed formula again and it was not tolerated well. He wouldn't eat and we had to fight to get much of anything in him. We were then mixing formulas and trying to get 6oz formula with 6 tsp rice cereal into him every 3.5hrs but were lucky to get 2oz in him every 4hrs. We were quite concerned. He then switched to Neocate and started eating 6oz every 4 hrs and gained 2 lbs between dr visits. That was when MSPI was diagnosed. At 6 months, we were allowed to introduce fruits and veggies one at a time. His milk consumption remained the same while the rice cereal for thickener was removed. The biggest improvement came from the formula change for us.

Thanks for the information. My daughter was doing good with the regular enfamil and thickened enfamil, up till she was 4 months old. If she had MSPI, wouldn't she react to it before she was 4 months old? Any ideas?

I don't know the answer to that one. I hope someone else does!

I am struggling with this same issue. My son is 5 months old (tomorrow) and is EBF. He is only getting 2-4oz every 3-5 hours. We rented a scale to monitor his weight gain and intake. Have you been into see your ped to make sure your LO is gaining the recommended amount? Also have you inquired about a change in meds/dosage? Maybe the acid is no longer controlled?

My daughter is 5 months old today. Yesterday I was able to get 16 oz into her and today I don't think I can reach that. We also bought a baby scale and measure her every other day. She seems to be losing weight (ounces) slowly. Her medication was recently increased (two days ago) and on top of that she has a stomach flu.
