Prevacid recommendations
My daughter had an aweful time with the Prevacid oral suspension so we are trying the solutabs. She is on 15mg 1/2 solutab a day. Would you recommend me to give her one dose or should I split it into a morning and an evening dose? Does this sound like a solid dose to you? How long does it take to kick in?

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but my Zack started on a 15 mg dose at 6 months and was on it til he was 2. We did split the dose at one time becuase he seemed to need it before bed, too, but it was a short time. We always gave it first thing in the am and then fed 30 min later. There is nothing wrong with splitting the dose...you have to find what works for your kid. Some kids who have a terrible time sleeping do well with the whole dose at night! You MUST wait 30 minutes after administering to feed...

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
I still split Ryan's dose. Once in the morning and then before supper. It blows through his system too fast. Like Janet said though, every child is different. For some kids it doesn't matter and for some it dose. Try it both ways and see if you can tell a difference. How old is your daughter and how much does she weigh?
