Hi my son is now 10 months old but he was the same way when he was younger. He got better when we found the right formula and started making sure he wasn't constipated. He doesn't do the moaning and groaning at night hardly at all but he still gets gassy. I feel for you because I still remember those horrible nights and days when nothing I did seemed to work to help him feel better. I will tell you that it took time with us. We also had to be real careful with his diet to find out what would cause the most problems. I also used mylanta or maalox at night which bought us a little more sleep maybe we would get 2 1/2 hours sleep rather then an hour. Hang in there. You're doing a great job! You could try to give her the prevacid a half hour before she's going to eat to see if that helps. I also can't remember if she's on the tabs, compounded or the granules of prevacid? The tabs caused my ds problems when he was younger but now they work great for him. Some kids just can't tolerate the solutabs. Good luck

I know Prevacid works great for many people. My youngest son reacted severely to it with diarrhea and gas. I myself have reflux and my doc said meds can have different side effects for people, and no side effects for some. If she is on the proper dose...check Marci-kids.com for dosing for her weight and age, and it still is not working, you are certainly in your right to ask to try something different. There is many PPI's.

Yes my son was severely constipated which can make the reflux worse. You may want to try adding Mirilax into the regime and see if that helps. Also, if you are not on a hypoallergenic formula yet I would try that because even MSPI children without a true allergy can be in that kind of pain from drinking a milk based formula. That could be what is causing all the gas.
