Holden update and prayers needed
Good morning ladies! I haven't told you about Holden lately so I thought I would share. The doctor put him on Periactin 2 months ago. It worked great to the point of after his month supply was up we didn't have to give it anymore. Well, about a month ago he go bad upset stomach with mucus and lots of blood. I took him to the pedi who did a CBC and he was anemic b/c of this. They had just done a CBC one month prior and he was fine. They did a bunch of stool cultures and everything came back normal so all we can think of was that we had just reintroduced dairy in his diet with some mac and cheese and yogurt. Yikes. That is scary he could lose so much blood with dairy. Well during this time of illness his appetite was horrible again but once he was better he began eating like a champ! I mean I almost thought life was normal (except all the reflux is obviously still there but at least he was eating!) Then last wed. he stopped eating again, on Friday he had a nasty cough and Sat. began running 102-103 temp. I took him to the kids express at our local hospital sunday and they told me they were sure he had swine flu but they swabbed him for it and it came back negative. So we go home and the fever breaks but the cough continues. I let a Dr. friend of mine listen to his chest and said it is fine. Well, something still didn't seem right so I took him to the pedi who I was dreading with all the sickness going around right now. Well the pedi said oh-he has pus pockets all over his throat and checked for strep. I will be if he didn't have strep! After a couple days of antibiotics he feels so much better but he has reverted back to having to be slept fed and refusing all solids. His feeding therapist came yesterday and said we may have to go back to desentizing, etc and start back over. Once he is all better we will trial him on periactin again. This is a big bummer to have to start over since we had made so much progress. So pray that he will rebound quickly for us. Thanks for the support. I cried all day yesterday to my therapists, my hubby, my friends, and anyone who would listen!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
So sorry you are back on the bottom again. No where to go but up right? Stay healthy, stay stronge and keep Holden away from as many cooties as you can. Wishing you a quick rebound.

Oh Tracy big hugs for you and Holden. I'm so sorry that it seems you're back at square one. That is so frustrating. I will tell you that they thought that Kody had the swine flu as well. His test came back negative as well but then I was told that it's a pretty unreliable test. A lot of false negative and some false positives too. Anyway I think it just causes all kinds of issues when they get this. Kody is now on antibiotics and was having diarrhea before that. Maybe when he starts to feel better things will work themselves out. We've been having a horrible time with the reflux pain. Lots of mylanta and screaming in our house. I'll being praying for you. Hang in there! We have a long flu season ahead of us. I really just want to put my family in a bubble so we get these nasty germs. lol

Thanks girls! I am sorry Kody is having a rough time too! He just had a diarreha diaper. I guess it is the antibiotic. How has Ryan been doing these days?
Check with your
doctor first!
