Nathan- Jazzy brother
Hi all,

Just wanted to update on Nate, who's going to get tested for partial hirshprung's. He also has reflux and now motility issues. The funny thing is, he seems to spit up really badly around 4:00 p/m until 8:00ish (the same times he had colic!) I don't know what to make of it because he's miserable. I've cut his bottles into smaller portions, I don't feed him solids in the afternoon, he only eats cereal and pears at the moment??? Any suggestions? He's on nexium and we are to start motilium...

Just wanted to add that he' s a horrible sleeper day and night. But wondering why he seems to be 10 times worse once 4:00 p/m hits........

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
My son had some motility issues although not severe and we were told that the reflux usually is worse in the evening and over night for 2 reasons because all the feeding you do all day long just builds up and up and doesn't go down so it comes back up and also since it is building up and the stomach is so full that the minute you lay them down that LES is pushed open and bam lots of reflux which makes for horrible sleepers. And since I had a horrible sleeper I will also say that I think the lack of sleep during the day just makes them so overtired and cranky at that dinner time hour that they just break down and can't take it anymore even though they want to sleep they can't. Wish I had some more suggestions for helping but my almost 3 year still doesn't sleep through the night on a regular basis. I hope the testing provides some answers for you.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
Totally reaching here but any chance he doesnt do well with pears? I have 2 nieces and a nephew that didnt do well on pears and none of them had reflux. Just couldnt tolerate them for the first year. Owly cats at night if they ate them. Try peaches instead of pears of a day or two?? I know.. I know.. I told you I was reaching.. -Karen. Ps. Sorry that you are getting the joy of going through this twice. : (

Our story is the same as Molson1525. We have delayed gastric emptying along with an open LES. By the end of the day they have so much food, etc. reflux is worse for my guy. It is obvious though that he has a bunch of milk, food still in his belly. They are also most tired like she says. I hope the motility med helps. It helps Holden tremendously and hugs to you for going through this stuff twice.
