Tucker Sling suggestions
Does anyone have any suggestions how to keep your little one in a Tucker Sling...???? My daughter has figured out how to unsnap the velcro and I can't seem to keep the o-rings from sliding thru each other and unhooking the safety strap. She is 7 1/2 months and weighs 13 lbs... so she still has plenty of growing room left before I thought we were going to have to stop using it. So I lowered her mattress back down and she hasn't slept well since.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. we used the danny's sling first on top of the tuckers wedge. she outgrew that and i placed a boppy at the base of the tuckers wedge....upside down in a u. her legs would drap over it, fanny in the u. rolled a big towel and put through one side of the rungs of the crib, ran it along the bottom of the boppy and out the other side of crib. it kept the boppy from sliding. this worked for 13 months and about 19 pounds. she started to buck out of it. she is now in the bed with us. ha!

One more thought if the safety pins dont work to keep the velcro shut. I have 2 2x4s (making it 4x4) blocks screwed together and placed under the legs of the crib at the head of the crib and a one inch crib wedge under the sheet. At first he would slide to the bottom but with in a week he stayed put on his own. I know.. it doest look pretty but it works and it allowed me to lower the mattress the lowest level to keep him from escaping. He is a climber.

PS. I had to stop using my Tucker Sling when Ryan was 8 months old. I found him in the crib one morning chattering away with it wrapped around his neck. Somehow he had worked his way out of it and then back down one leg hole and it got around his neck. Scared me but he was laughing. The child has always been hoodini like. So, that was the end of that. If she is a wiggle worm and the large safety pins dont keep her in, I would stop using it.
