Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I'm back... :-(
Hi everyone, my name is Donnessa and I was on this site quite a bit two years ago with my oldest daughter, Halley. We have a new one-month old daughter, Addison, and it looks like reflux has struck us again. Addison has been showing progressively more symptoms over the last three weeks (after our first honeymoon week when I thought we had been spared). She is on Axid, which worked at first, but now seems to be ineffective.

Anyway just wanted to (re)introduce myself. I look forward to getting to know all the new people.

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
I'm soo sorry Donnessa. :(

Jedd's on Axid and we have noticed that it's weight sensitive. Not as sensitive as Zantac but it's pretty close. As long as we monitor his dose and move it up as he gains, he stays just fine.

You know what to do.....you've been done the road, I remember from last time. ((HUGS)) I would possible move to a PPI for a bit and see how that goes.

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
First, congratulations on the new baby! I remember you and your wonderful advice to me when I first joined this forum. I am sorry to hear that Addison has reflux symptoms too. I just wanted to send hugs and prayers your way. I hope she'd feel better and the reflux will be controlled soon since you already know what to do. Chance is good that she'd outgrow it like her sister. My son, Matthew is 20mos old now and does very well on Nexium. He just got his scope done last week and the biopsy came back with no damage, no EE nor Celiac. I'm optimistic and pray that some day he'd be able to get off the medicine too. Hang in there!

Dx with silent reflux at 8 months
FPIES, DGE, MSPI. Recently diagnosed with EC (Eosin. colitis and now Primary immune deficiency disease.
Also mom to Nathan. born Jan.20th, 2009, MPI . so far dx with reflux and has an extremely sensitibe GI system. Also dx with primary immune deficiency disease.
Hi Donessa, nice to hear from you again!! I understand how you must be feeling. My second one Nate( now 8 months) is still battling reflux. The only good thing about this whole thing is that you are much more aware and can recognize symptoms much faster.

I know it's hard to go thru all this again, esp. with the fatigue of a newborn etc... but hopefully Addison will get prompt treatment. HUGS
