Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Ryan Update
Well, Ryan had his 15 month appointment today. It was his first appointment that I didn't dread putting him on the scale. He is just shy of the 50th percentile for weight and 80th for height. Yaa Hoo!!!! He started at 92% at birth and dropped all the way down the 6% by the time he was 8 months old. He made tiny improvements along the way but today.. well it was a good day. He jumped from the 20th percentile to the 50th in 3 months. He is off formula and on Lactaid Whole milk, I gave away the rest of my stage 2 baby food as he is on 100% normal table foods. (He never did take stage 3. Gagged every time so I took him right to finger foods) I am still compounding his Prevacid with Caracream/Buffer Babies (best decision I have ever made with him) but I have dropped his dose down from 30 mg a day to 24 mg with no changes. Next week I am going to try to take him to 15 mg. He still refluxes after bigger meals but the Prevacid is finally doing its job. Dare I say I see a glimmer of light at the end of this tunnel? Someone reassure me that it is not the lights of a freight train that I am seeing..- Karen

Woo hoo!!!! Ryan is very lucky to have you as his momma!!! What kind of Prevacid do you have to have to compound it? You can't use solutabs can you. Do you just mix it with the caracream ordered from Marci Kids? I am so excited for you.

Thanks!! Now to just get my friend baby to the same spot. I had to switch to the capsules. Jeff from Marci Kids said the Solutabs dont work for compounding. I open 16 capusules that are 15 mg strength and pour them into the Therasol they send me. Then I add that to the Caracream they send me. It has been a godsend. It is so nice to not have to time it around food anymore and to know that allof the meds are getting into his system. -Karen

That is great news! I'm so happy to hear that Ryan is doing so well. What a lot of hard work you've done to get him to this point. Kudos and a pat on the back to you and Ryan. I'm doing the happy dance for you!!!

Write it down folks... I caught Ryan in the pantry munching on crackers and cookies. That's a first! And after he ate his dinner last night he sat on my lap and ate all the fruit of my plate. Crazy! I had to write that one done in his baby book.
