Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Hi! I saw on your neocate post that you are putting Miralax in Codys bottle, using the Baby Calm and he is still having hard stools. Are you putting it in milk, water or juice? If you are putting it in milk that might be your issue. It can only be mixed with water or juice. My pharmacist was very specific about that. How much Miralax are you giving him? I have 3 pharmacist in my immediate family... it comes in handy sometimes. Thought I would check.

PS Regular ped doc prescribe Miralax all the time so if your GI wont call back on the dosage you can call your regular doc. He/she will know the correct dosage. So will the pharmacist.

Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
if milk/formula is all a child is getting then it can go in it but you have to make sure that the child is getting at least 6 ounces of milk in a sitting. I also was told that it is optimum to give it in another liquid but the GI and the pharm told us that it is okay if no alternative. audrey was on it at 4 months and she drank nothing other then milk so it had to be in that. i must say it is easier to get the mirilax to be drunk in bottles! neither of my girls will drink much juice or water at a sitting. emily will if it's sprite zero lol.

Johnnie takes miralax every day- we started at a tsp and are up to a tablespoon a day. His ped says that he can even go up to 3tbs a day if needed but we havent needed that much. I usually put it in a small 4 oz bottle with 2 ounces of pear juice and 2 ounces of water, or I get that gerber flavored water and put it in there. I tried mixing with his formula and it just didnt work for us.

I have been putting his miralax in his formula because that's what the gi told me to do. He didn't suggest any other way and he didn't seem to think it wouldn't work that way. He finally had less hard stool today. Still not going great but the little balls that come out are softer. I gave him baby calm in a sippy cup of water and he sucked it down. I was surprised because he's been so resistant to drink for me lately. We're up to a capful of miralax a day now. So hopefully that will get things moving for him.
