Pulmicort
Holden started choking on his bottles again and sounds very rough. I had to take him in today and we are starting Pulmicort today for 6 weeks. What is the difference b/w that and Zoponex (?). That is what he took last time. Also I thought this stuff was suppose to get better. While Holden's vomiting has turned to more silent reflux, his aspiration issues are getting worse. we do have a pulmo but he's a couple hours away so our pedi deals with most of this stuff.

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
pulmicort is a steroid and Xoponex is a bronchiodialator. The steroid reduces inflammation in the lungs and the brohchiodialator opens up the airways...together it's easier to breathe. We used pulmicort and albuterol for about 8 months...we still do if Z gets an upper respiratory thing... GOOD LUCK

Mom to Charlie - cleft palate and reflux. Meds - zantac, prevacid, mylanta and reglan.
We used pulmicort after Charlie got 'viral-induced' asthma symptoms when he was sick in the winter. It was more of a preventive measure once he got over the worst of the symptoms with a more potent steroid. I stopped it when the weather got better and there was no noticeable difference.
