Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. How are Kody and Holden doing?

Thank you for checking on us!! I have been wondering about Ryan too. How are things for you?? Well, we back on the down side of the reflux roller coaster. I have him back on the 30 mg of Prevacid but he has been sleeping horribly-waking up every hour, etc. He has had some more apnea spells although it is not all related to reflux. His appetite is back low again and he has been choking on his bottles again. It is so crazy how things can be going so well and then bam back downhill again.

You're so sweet to check on us. I was thinking of Ryan and you as well. Is he still doing well on the mylanta and claritin?

Kody is doing better right now. He's starting to eat and drink again for me. We tried reglan and he turned into a screaming mess that day. I have no idea if it was that or not but now we're nervous to use it. I guess we're on the upswing of the whole reflux demon.

Tracy- I'm sorry to hear that Holden isn't doing very well right now. I know all about the waking up every hour thing. Kody isn't sleeping very well still. He had another horrible night last night. I decided to have a girl's night out for a few hours. Then I was up until 3 am and then my dh took over until 6. I'm exhausted today.

Hugs to both your little guys!

Sorry to hear Holden is back in the trenches. Ryan is there with him. He is working on his bottom molars and bottom eye teeth at the same time and the entire household has a nasty cold on top of it. Whoo Hoo. Good times at the Kuhn household. At least he hasn't gotten a canker sore this time, still drinking and eating some.. and no trip to the ER... yet... . : ) That is a huge win for us. We haven't made it through a teething episode yet with out a canker sore and IV fluids. I guess the allergist was right... It was the Motrin. I am telling myself that as bad as the teeth thing is maybe it is a good thing that he is getting 4 at once. That means one less seperate epsiode? Ok, I am reaching.. I know. I am trying to get back to my old eternal optimistic self again. We saw the GI last week for a a regular follow up. I fessed up to the nightly Mylanta. He does not want me doing it long term and wants me to put him on Miralax instead. I don't want to make the switch of course because I am killing two birds with one stone with the Mylanta.... night time acid control and bowel movements. If it aint broke... I am going to at least wait till we get through this latest teething episode and then I will think about following the doctors orders. I contacted Jeff at Marci-kids and he said I was totally fine giving the Mylanta so I am going with that for now. My GI is super nice, easy on the eyes too... but I have follow my own gutt on this one, for now anyway. Have either of you given any consideration to contacting Marci-kids to get Themasol and Caracream to start compounding your prevacid. I love it. I no longer have to worry about scheduling it around food. In fact he gets his morning dose after his bottle so I can feed him when he is still out of it. Now I know that he is getting all of his meds and that all of it is getting in his system. No worrying about timing. I love it. I am so glad to hear that Kody is eating and drinking. That was really getting to me. I have been there so many times and hated seeing you go through that with Kody. Uhg. It is tough stuff. Stay on the upside of the rollercoaster. Pack the pounds on while you can. Take care!! - Karen
