Aloe Vera Update
Went to a local health food store and they had tons of Aloe Vera Juice. I asked the owner for help and she said that "Aloe Life" is the best for little ones because it is flavored. I bought "cherry berry". The bottle says take before a meal and says 1 yr. olds should take 1 tsp. I called my ped. and he said it's worth a try and shouldn't hurt anything. The only symptom he's aware of is diarrhea. He said that since Stanton doesn't really eat anything, adding just 1/4 tsp. to his juice/bottle 2x day would be his recommendation. If his bms change, then it will be obvious that the aloe vera is the cause. My ped. suggested this amount for one week and if all is well, increase to 1/2 tsp. 2x day next week. I'll let you all know about the diarrhea issues if they occur and if I feel I see a difference. I hid the first dose in his morning 3 oz. smoothie and Stanton didn't notice a bit.

Okay -so the diarrhea has begun. We only did two 1/4 tsp doses yesterday. So - it's not really working out. He is super fussy today and didn't sleep well last night. Woke up with 2 bad blow out diapers in the night. I'm not giving him any aloe vera today....or maybe ever again!

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
uhg... sorry to hear that.

I am so sorry. I was afarid of that. I am glad you started on a really small ammount. It would be BAD if you had done the full dose. Yikes. Hope he feels better quickly. ((HUGS)) to you!!
