Slept really well for 4 nights, now....So Cody's dr put him Ranitidine last Friday. Friday and Saturday were typical, up-8 times etc. Sunday, he slept through the night completely! Since then, he hasn't slept through again, but has only been waking up 1-2 times which is definitely progress. But now last night, he was up 6-8 times again! I've heard that this med is really weight sensitive...so what do I do? Go in and get him weighed once a week to see if he's changed at all?? Anyone have experience with this? I'm completely new to all of this...we are still not even sure he has reflux, it was just something the doc wanted to try to see if it helped him sleep...and the fact that he is 11 months old and can't drink anymore that 5 oz at a time without spitting up for the next 3 hours... Thanks!

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
|You could try a PPI. It is a medicine the blocks the acid from being produced in the first place.|

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
|When we were put on the med, our ped just started Mags on a dose that was somewhat high so we wouldn't have to keep doing that. Ask about that...|

|Ok...so Cody was originally on 2.1 ml 2x's a day. I brought him to the dr on Friday and now we increased it to 2.5. It still doesn't seem to be helping. For those who have read some of my posts about Cody, do you think that he even has reflux or that it's something else? We didn't try a PPI as we are not even sure it's reflux.
I'm just not sure what to think anymore. When we started the med, a couple days later, he slept COMPLETELY through the night which he has never done before. That makes me kinda think that the med did help some?? But after those couple days it doesn't appear to be having an affect anymore??? AH! I'm frustrated...(as lots of people are...)
I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who has responded to any of my posts--you all are amazing and really help us newbies out!! =)||Check with your
