Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Ryan Update
Well, Ryan got his voice back on Thursday and started eating and drinking willfully on Friday. By Sunday he was eating everything in sight. Today he drank 9 oz at daycare. No world record I know, but I will take it. I consistently got 27 oz in him each day this weekend plus finger foods. Tonight he is a drooling mess. More teeth on the way. Please please please please tell me that we are not days away from bottoming out again. I would be devistated. He is so happy, playful and mischevious right not. I love that about him. I dont want to go backwards again. I am mixing his Prevacid with CaraCream now so I pray that will make the difference for his this time and we can make it through this set of teeth without a canker sore and drinking strike. Someone light a candle for him if you are in church.

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
I am so glad to hear Ryan eats and drinks better, and the most important thing is his being happy again. I really hope the coming teething bound would not hurt him as much. Please hang in there. My son is also in the middle of eating strike from a combination of teething, food aversion, picky eating phase, etc. I don't really know for sure. We're in the same boat and I totally understand how special you feel when seeing your son eating and drinking better. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family for more and more better days ahead. Pls keep us posted. Hugs!
