Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Mommato3, how is Holden doing?
Hey, just wondering how you and Holden are doing? Are things improving at all?

Thank you so much for asking! About 24 hours after his choking/apnea episode earlier in the week his cough came back with a vingence. We were sent in for a chest x-ray which showed no pneumonia but he continued to cough constantly. That night my husband and I watched him all night b/c he was doing funky breathing again. I took him to the ped first thing that morning. He put him on a nebulizer with xoponex. Immediately that helped the breathing and hack cough but he is still coughing up mucous. We are still on the treatments. He is cutting three teeth on top (i thought 2 but I saw the 3rd one today). His nutritionist came today and said he is about 5 oz (26 calorie per oz) shy of meeting his caloric needs to grow. I can't push him anymore to get it in him though with all these choking episodes. I also made a visit with his pulmo when we go to the new GI July 9th in Cincy. That is so sweet of you to ask!

My spirits are a little better. My husband has gotten me out of the house (b/w feedings of course!) this week. We've been out to eat and I went to my son's t-ball game and he watched the baby since he was sick.. He also surprised me one day andcame home from work right after I fed Holden and told me to get out of the house and gave me some money to spend. I got a manicure, bought some new sunglasses-we're going to the beach in July (Woohoo!), and ate some luch out. It is amazing how much better just getting out of the house can make you feel.

You sound so much better. I am so glad your husband got you out of the house. I have been thinking about you a lot. It's too bad all of us moms are all spread out across the country. We could give each other a break. How nice it would be to be able to leave our little ones with someone that totally understood. What is up with these teeth and the mess they make of reflux. Who would have thought. Ryan is working on his molars so I totally understand. He has no voice today and refusing dream feeds. Poor kid. I am so glad Holden doesnt have pneumonia. That is a big win. The nutritionist are such a mixed blessing arent they. They are great to get ideas on extra calories but when things are really tough it stresses you out more because you are already doing everything you possible can and then they remind you that you need to do more. Uhg. Soak up so sun this weekend and treat yourself to a home cleaning service sometime. That does wonders too. I had someone come yesterday. Libby cleaned my house while I had a coffee and skimmed through books at the book store for an hour. You would like I had gone on vaca for a week! Take care this weekend.

I just wanted to jump in and say that I'm glad to hear that you can get out of the house for a little while. What a wonderful hubby you have. You so deserve it. It sounds like Holden is having it rough. It's good to hear that he doesn't have pneumonia though. Kody has been coughing for like 2 weeks and horrible congestion. It's hard to determine what's reflux and illness. Hang in there and keep us updated on how your little guy is doing. I appreciate all the good advice and lending ear you've given me. We'll all make it through this. They will be such strong boys and we'll be such stronger mommies after all of this. Lots of hugs!!
