Culturelle and MPI
My son has been diagnosed with reflux and MPI, and my pediatrician recommended that we start the probiotic Culturelle (in addition to the Prevacid he currently takes). However, I am a little concerned because I read tonight that it contains trace amounts (15 ppm) of casein and whey. Has anyone else with MPI children had experience with this probiotic? Are there other probiotic options I should ask about?

I just saw at the store that they have a new one with no dairy and claim it has none of the allergens. It looks promising which I got excited about. We haven't tried it yet because I was hoping to find it cheaper at another store. Be careful it has to say that it's the new formula box the old one does contain milk protein in it. I know that others on here use probiotics and they will tell what is good to use. Good luck!!

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
If milk, soy, etc allergies are a problem, our ped sent us to Prothera (Klaire Labs line) for probiotics. You can check them out at www.protherainc.com to read the information. I have an authorization code to order, but they're a little pricey compared to the ones that are store bought. I love their products though.

jeddsmommy uses one she found at a local healthfood store - she'll probably post on this thread too.

We use Babylife. It is dairy free as my son is MSPI. It is a powder that I put in his bottles. It is made by Solarray (however you spell it) I get it at our local healthfood store.
