Emibug-I saw you posted your doctor wouldn't prescribe erythromycin b/c of your daughter's kidney. Why is that? My son has been on it and he has hydronephrosis of the kidneys. A VCUG showed no reflux but a lasix nuclear scan showed mild UPJ obstruction in right kidney and moderate obstruction of left kidney. I was never told anything about Eryth. and kidneys. Curious. It is aggravating the things doctors don't tell us. Thanks!!

I am not really sure about all the technical reasons why, we were just told ees was not an option for emily. the GI and the urologist both decided she should not be on it. From what i gathered...The GI said since she has chronic unknown diarrhea the EES would make it worse. The urologist said no because of stage 2 kidney reflux and she was on a daily antibiotic for that. I am not sure if the EES had anything to do with the actual kidney reflux diagnosis or hurting the kidneys further or maybe something to do with her incomplete voiding? but i do know one of the cautions with using EES is to consider kidney disease. i hope this helped! :)
