Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
Finally a breakthrough
Well, Adriane has been on carrots, turkey and blueberries only (all organic) for months now. We have tried other foods with no avail. She is so tired of them! I have found some allergen free chocolate, well at least free of her allergens. She loves it and I make suckers out of the chocolate chips. The other good news, I decided to try peas again. These have always upset her reflux and her GI system. I don't think she ever had a true allergy to them but a digestive issue for sure. So, I guess the third time is the charm. I hope I don't jinx us but she has been eating them for about 5 days and is doing good. She is actually not refusing the carrots anymore either. I think she was so sick of the same thing all the time. Perhaps 2 will be the infamous magic age for us. (1 certainly wasn't) She is still on all the meds and we lowered the zrytec dosage and she is much more pleasant. Thanks for all the advice and support here ladies. I had to share our good news. -Amanda

congrats!! i hope this leads the way to more good foods! maybe you could do a "fondu" for a treat. have you tried coconut milk? if she could tolerate coconut milk it would be good to add in as a milk to a gluten free bread mix. i hope 2 goes much better for A

The problem with gluten free is that most of them contain rice or potatoes. I might try to the coconut milk though. Perhaps it could be a nice treat since it is sweeter than her formula. I am going to make her a smoothie out of her formula and the blueberries. We will see how that goes. I have a yogurt machine and am wondering if I could make it out of her formula. Thinking about trying!
