Prevacid Discount Program
Is this really ending this month? I have the card where I get $25 off each full month's script. I have heard you can't renew after 5/31. My pharmacist is upset that it's not continuing and thinks it's ridiculous. Yeah, well, you are preaching to the choir because I am the one that will have to pay a large deducitble for two kids on Prevacid. Is it really going away? If so, are there any replacement programs being set up instead?

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
my card was good until May, but my pharmacy said the company wasn't paying the co pay as of couple months ago. I pay 26 bucks a month now. Blah. My pedi gave me a bunch of samples at our last appt, so that was nice.

Jackie (3/01)
Payton (9/03)
Abby (4/06) Prevacid 7.5mg (evening), MSPI, goats milk (currently trying to wean off Prevacid)

I called the program directly and they said that it is ending as of 5/31. It was wonderful b/c we only had to pay $5/month until Dh's insurance changed a few months ago and our co-pay went up to $50 instead of $30. Thankfully we started weaning Abby off of it and as of tomorrow she is just on she is just on 3.25mgs at night.

Pout, wonder why they are ending it when so many parents really could use it? My pharamacist said with the way it works, they don't lose a dime. (meaning the makers of Prevacid)

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
It's ending because a new one is coming out - Kapidex. This means that Prevacid SHOULD become a brand formulary for insurances, but now that there's a new one, we'll all probably have to go through begging and pleading for ins to cover it.

My GI just told me that she heard it was going generic here pretty soon. Hopefully. ;) My copay for generic meds is $5. My DR just rx'd me the new med which is time released and it has worked really well for me thus far... not approved for kidos though.
