Cadence diagnosed with reflux at 6 weeks, was taking Zantac, then Prevacid, then back to Zantac and now Carafate, also on probiotics, Sandifers syndrome, silent refluxer, never sleeps, flat head syndrome from being elevated all the time.
Hello everyone, I want to report that we are all over the flu and today was the first day in a long time that Cadence has been happy all day long. Probably because he is getting over the flu and I think that it may have to do with his Prevacid kicking in. The only problem I have now is battling Cadence every morning to swallow his medication, so when this prescription is almost gone I am going to ask to change his Prevacid to solutabs, I think it will be less of a struggle to get him to take it. Also I wanted to ask all you very informative and helpful moms if you have any suggestions on some important questions I should ask the GI doctor? Our appointment is tomorrow morning at a very early 7:45 am! I have been keeping a diary of his eating and habits from the last 2 days, and I also am writing down Cadences history with the reflux and any questions that pop in my head, and also the list of meds he has taken that hasn't worked. I know in the hospital they did the upper GI test to confirm his severe reflux, but I am not sure what to expect at this first appointment, will we just talk and he will exam the baby? Or will he actually do tests to see if there are any underlying issues or damage from the reflux? I really appreciate anyones suggestions or opinions that have gone to see the GI with their little one. I am very excited that they managed to "squeeze us in so fast" and I am looking forward to getting some answers from the GI, I hope he can help us!
