Cadence diagnosed with reflux at 6 weeks, was taking Zantac, then Prevacid, then back to Zantac and now Carafate, also on probiotics, Sandifers syndrome, silent refluxer, never sleeps, flat head syndrome from being elevated all the time.
Yay, Cadence is home!!
Hello everyone, I just wanted everyone to know we are home from the hospital, and we are thrilled and very tired! We met with a speech therapist and an occupational therapist today before we were discharged, they were so helpful and they taught me a great feeding plan for Cadence to follow, and gave me some great pointers on how to make feedings easier and more productive. They sent us home with our prevacid and a really nice sleep wedge with a tucker sling. Once again I want to say thank you to everyone for the guidance, I feel like this is a new start and I am pretty confident that we will see a big improvement with our baby. I have one question for those of you that have a wedge and sling, do you have a cover over it? Does anyone put the crib sheet over it, or just keep the sheet on the crib mattress?

Andrea: Mom to 3 crazy girls!
Jackie (3/01)
Payton (9/03)
Abby (4/06) Prevacid 7.5mg (evening), MSPI, goats milk (currently trying to wean off Prevacid)
Glad to hear that he is home! That is awesome that they gave you a wedge and Tucker Sling!! If it is the wedge that you can get along with the Tucker Sling then I am pretty sure that the sheet goes on the crib mattress and the wedge sits on top of the mattress and the sling attaches to just the wedge. I could be wrong though. We used the tucker sling for a short time but we didn't have the wedge so we just attached the sling to the inclined crib mattress. You could check out the Tucker Sling website, I am sure it says how to use it there.

Ryan was born May 20th 2008. 9 lbs 2 oz. Ryan’s magic bullet was 30mg of Prevacid capsules mixed with Caracream from Marci-kids (I am forever indebted to the team at Marci-kids), Claratin for the mucos, and Mirlax for the constipation. Within 2 months of this combo he jumped from the 6% to the 50% for weight and continues to climb. Be strong, listen to your instincts. Read his story for more specifics that just might help you too - Karen
Yeah!!!!! I am so happy for you. Welcome home. You have to feel so good to finally have some answers and more importantly a game plan. Thrilled for your family. Take care and sleep well tonight.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Yay! I am so thrilled that everything went so well. Bonus points for being such a good mommy :)

That is great news! I have been wondering if he had gotten to come home yet. That is exciting that you got so much help with everything while you are there. You must have an awesome hospital! I always felt like all they did for us is get her feeling well enough to go home. I have no advice about the sling but I hope you see some improvement with all your new tools. Good job Mom!

Congrats on coming home! i hope this is a new beginning as well. keep us posted on his progress. I am with abbysmom on how the sling works. That is my understanding. I am actually ordering one for my son today as well. The homemade thing isn't working well anymore since he is so active. Get on the website and their customer service has been very helpful to me as well. I have had to call them to ask them some questions.
Check with your
