Mom to Jasmine aka: Jazz 01/24/2007
Dx with silent reflux at 8 months
FPIES, DGE, MSPI. Recently diagnosed with EC (Eosin. colitis and now Primary immune deficiency disease.
Also mom to Nathan. born Jan.20th, 2009, MPI . so far dx with reflux and has an extremely sensitibe GI system. Also dx with primary immune deficiency disease.
Nathan has rectal stenosis or low partial hirsprung's
So hence the reason he is having trouble pooping. WE are to see a surgeon on April 7 to see what can be done. At least then he won't be so miserable. He always just pushes and nothing comes out and so he screams and screams. I am exhausted and so is he poor guy. Meanwhile, Jazzy is on her 2nd cold in 4 weeks and she NEVER sleeps with a cold. I can't beleive as Mom's how much we can actually do on so little sleep!

Thanks for listening.

Lorenzo b.4/25/07 1 week in NICU w/ aspirate pneumonia from a reflux episode; diagnosed GERD at 9weeks; Used Zantac for 5months. Currently using Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy. GERD, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sensory Processing Disorder. Ask me about breastfeeding a refluxer! Pic: day 5 in the NICU.
((HUGS)) It truly amazes me that women are not celebrated as heroes in every culture for what we are capable of, and often manage to survive with humanity and humor in tact. I'm so sorry you have even more on your plate than ever...you are a hero in my book, and both Jazzy and Nathan are lucky to have you! The same goes for you, Kathryn -- I know you were both hoping that your second would be free from health problems after all you went through with the first. You'll be in my thoughts.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
It really is unbelievable how we survive on such little sleep or should I say NO sleep. I hope they can help your little guy and Jazzy feels better. Just think....cold and flu season is almost over.

I just wanted to say that my daughter has hirschsprungs and it was the lower portion. I know how hard it wss to see her in so much pain and not being able to do anything. I hope you get much needed sleep and that the surgeon appt goes well. Ask me any questions that you'd like because I've probably been through it with my daughter. We had a suction biopsies (lots of them) and then a pull through at nine months. The road was long and hard but we pulled through and you will too. prayers and hugs
