Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Answer for red hands
Well I took Katie in for her red hands. The doctor thinks it is a form of the hand, foot, mouth disease. I am relieved that it is nothing more.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
WHEW! Me too! It was just crazy bc that's all I was coming up with was vague stuff about the liver! It scared me. What did they give you for it?

Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
It is funny how us reflux moms go towards the worse rather than the obvious! :) I didn't even think of hand, foot and mouth. I'm glad they figured it out for you. Hopefully, antibx will take care of it.

I know! The reason I put it out there was that I was coming up with liver stuff too :) I need to be banned from all medical internet sites.LOL

momma of 2 refluxers
My daughter has had that. I was told by doctor and found that ice water and tylenol was the best relief. My daughter had gotten the soars in her mouth and throat and didn't want to eat and drink for about a week. I was told antibiotics won't work but the ice water did wonders for her. Also it is highly contagious but I guess most adults have had some form of it during their lifetime and once you have it you can't get it again. Good luck!!!

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
I'm so glad you got the answer. As a reflux mom, I always go for the worse than other common diseases too.
Check with your
doctor first!
