Shawna: First time Mom to Mallory (10/07/08). Silent reflux diagnosed at 2 months. Alimentum formula fed. Trial of Losec (minimal effect). Now Prevacid 1x/day plus Zantac 2x/day.
Teething or reflux?????Just wanting to hear from other mom's as to how you know your kids are teething or the reflux is flaring up/getting worse. Mallory has definitely been getting grumpier lately (last week or so) and I have had some people (perfect strangers, actually) comment that she may be teething. The drooling is like a faucet and she 'munches' on her hands often. I also noticed today two tiny white 'buds' on her lower gumline. I know that the drooling and chewing can also be signs of reflux.
To add a monkey wrench to the situation, we just started a new med for gastric motility on Monday for choking episodes, of which she's already had two this week so I'm not sure if it's working (I'd say NO at this point).
Any thoughts/advice/experience would be helpful...thanks.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
|Teething aggravtes reflux. So basically, many will go through a reflux flare when teething is at it's worst. If you're using maalox or mylanta, this is usually the time when it's needed most. HTH||Check with your
