Co sleeping with 14 mo old GERDling ;)
I was wondering if anyone knows about a device that allows you to co sleep with a toddler? Like I know Arms Reach has that bassinet..but my 14 mo old is too big for that? He co sleeps with us, and not only do we have no room but I want to elevate the bed to help his reflux. So I was wondering if something like the arms reach bassinet is made for toddlers so I can sleep share with him AND he can have his bed elevated? The wedges and pillows wont work because they wont fit on our bed, and he tosses and turns too much to be in a harness. Any help is appreaciated. THANKS!

How about using one of those comfy fit mattresses on a raised toddler bed frame?I think it's called comfy fit. Maybe comfy lift? You might even just get a twin sized one so you can use it for years and years if needed.

Lorenzo b.4/25/07 1 week in NICU w/ aspirate pneumonia from a reflux episode; diagnosed GERD at 9weeks; Used Zantac for 5months. Currently using Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy. GERD, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sensory Processing Disorder. Ask me about breastfeeding a refluxer! Pic: day 5 in the NICU.
I have used a variety of different arrangements with my almost 2 year old. I used a full size crib with the side rail removed against our bed, with the crib mattress raised at the head. I used a crib mattress on the floor next to our mattress on the floor, again with crib mattress head raised. I used both of the above with both crib and our mattress heads raised. Eventually my husband got sick of constantly being awakened by our movements and he moved into another bed, so now there's plenty of room for me and DS (though I'm a bit sad DH sleeps elsewhere) and I either raise the head of our mattress or prop his top half on a very firm pillow (which works well for those all night nursing fests, when he doesn't stray far from my chest -- usually when he's sick, which is most of the time, and needs both the nursing and the extra head elevation).

Do you have enough space beside your bed for a crib sized or twin mattress?

Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I agree that putting a toddler bed or twin sized bed next to yours may help. We used 2 of those plastic bed lifts with my dd's bassinet and I'm sure they would work wonderfully in raising the head of a twin or toddler bed. You can get them at Target...here's a link
