Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
Morgan, my 5 yo, has done both together. She has been doing much better since starting the probiotics. I wish I could say the same for the Adriane. Morgan's reflux is as bad and was actually undx until around 4 yo. She was a silent spitter and even then didn't show too many signs. We use Animal Parade AcidophiKidz. We found them at whole foods. They work great for both of my girls because they are hypoallergenic. I hope this helps. -Amanda

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
YES!!! Great results with even just the reflux, but helps the other end. Takes a few days, since the flora needs time to rebalance, but they work fantastic. We use Prothera's Klaire Lab line. I have an authorization code if you'd like to try them.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Slimfast~ I would like the auth code if you don't mind. We have probiotics for Katie but the sticker says contains a minimal amount of soy or milk and milk is such a huge no-no that I don't use them. I have looked for dairy free and Prothera is the only one that I have found. Thank you!!!!!

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
My GI didn't want me to do probiotics. I still don't get that. She says you shouldn't mess with their natural flora. But I'm like - what if their natural flora sucks.

Katie won't take it anyway but I always wonder if it would help her.

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
Matthew started Prothera's probiotics 3 weeks ago with very good results. Meghann helped us to get the code. He eats better and has good appetite. He also poops every day now and we don't have to use Milk of Magnesia any more. He used to have constipation issue with med.

Prothera authorization
Hi all, Is there anyone that still has a valid authorization code. Prothera seems to be the best place for probiotics, magnesium citrate and prebiotics, but I evidently don't have a valid code. Would really like to try these since they're not milk-based. Thanks so much to anyone that can help! Karen
