30 mg Prevacid???
We went to Cincinnati to our 1st GI visit. He put Holden on 30 mg of Prevacid split into 2 doses. He is only 14 pounds 33/4 months old. That seems like a huge dose of prevacid. Holden was on Reglan and 15mg of Prevacid and still having great difficulty so he said to stop the Reglan and double the Prevacid. Shouldn't he just have thrown in some other stuff with the 15 mg of Prevacid. i'm scared to give him that much. Has anyone else been on that much Prevacid at such a young age and weight?? He is ordering a lot of other testing, etc.

I'd go with it as well. A dose that high will help to heal any damage that may be present.

Thank you so much ladies. Big immediate changes-Prevacid and Elecare. He will be getting back to us about scheduled scope(He is doing one and he wants ENT to check his airway-micrognathia), PH probe, manometry, and sleep study. Wow a lot of stuff but like he said he is at the point now that we need intervention or things are going to be ugly. He also wants us to see a genetist (sp?) and the feeding team on April 9th. He seems to think my son could have the Pierre Robin syndrome-It is rare not to have the cleft palate but possible and he has a high arch palate. It feels good to finally get somewhere that can give us some answers.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
There have been plenty of babies here on high doses. I'd give it a shot for several weeks and see how it goes. If you see anything that concerns you, let your dr know :)
Check with your
doctor first!
