Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
Back for HelpHi everyone. Coyle is coming up on 18 months but it still "spitting up" It only really happens when he gets too rough... that is running around like the nut he is. After he does spit up it doesn't seem to *bother* him too much except he looks at me like "yuck" what was that? But then goes on playing.. Have any of you experienced this? And, is it my understanding that if reflux does not end by 18 mo. then it will continue for much longer?
On another note, i've been noticing coyle doing his strange move with his arms again. He puts them out straight and then moves his body from side to side with a weird look in his eyes. could he be playing around or do these sound like seizures to those of you with experience? They are freaky looking and abnormal to me. Wish I had a video to post-i'll try and get one. With his tone issues and lazy eye I still worry about neuro...
Thanks! Missed everyone

and Robby 4-22-2004
Mila is on Peptamen JR 30 cal by NG tube. Open Heart Surgery 2/08/08. Captopril, Zantac, Losec, Lasix.
|The weird arm movements need to be brought up with your ped, preferably when you've been able to video tape it.|
The spitting up thing is pretty normal for a kid whose had reflux. Robby continued to spit up a bit even after he turned two.

Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
|We are still dealing with spitting up also. I don't know what the likeliness of it continuing if it is still around after 18 months. At this rate we have stopped hoping to grow out of it! :) |
I think the weird shakey thing should be checked. Also, has his eye been checked by a peds opthamologist. A has epilepsy and a lazy eye sometimes and there is a possibility that it is seizure related. So, i guess I am saying have they ruled out the seizures have anything to do with his eye? Has he had it his whole life? I would talk to your ped about the weird thing that is going on and then also the opthamologist.
They looked at A and gave us some good information. Luckily, we didn't have to get glasses right now. They told us that her optic nerve is looking good which is generally where the seizures affect first. So, this is something that we will have to follow for a while.
I hope you get some answers.

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
|Hi Mom2coy. Good to hear update from you. Sorry I don't have helpful feedback for you but I just wanted to send you hugs and hope that you'd find some answers from the docs soon. The good thing is that Coyle's reflux is under good control with H2 blocker and he doesn't seem to be bothered by the puking. All I could do is just to pray every night that our little ones would grow out of GERD some day or at least getting better and healthier with minimal med. My son turned 1 yr old and his reflux got worse. We had to switch med again to Nexium. The GI said next step will be a scope and PH study.||Check with your
