Quinn is sick
Ah crap! Quinn is sick. Thankfully, she still is in good spirits, but she has a fever, has a terrible, terrible cough and is not breathing all that well. I listened to her lungs with my stethoscope and she definitely has something going on in there. I'll know when to take her in to the doctor. isn't it ironic that this ALWAYS happens on a Friday for me!!! like, she gets kinda sick on fridays usually and then I have to decide whether or not to take her in before she gets worse on the weekend because otherwise we are gonna get half booty treatment in the ER. So... i think i'll see how it goes until around 1pm and if she is still coughing up a lung, i'm gonna take her in just to possibly nip it in the butt before it gets worse. Oh, also, i went ahead and kept her o2 on. -Sarah

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Poor Quinn. I hope she feels better soon. Hopefully they gave her something for her cough today.

Mom to Matthew, 01/16/08, GERD baby, has been on Zantac since 2 mos. Aidan, his twin brother, no GERD. Max-ed out on Zantac at 1ml-3 times/day, and switched to Prevacid 15mg split tab 08/20/08. Switched again to 20mg Prilosec 09/18/08 due to Prevacid's restlessness/headache side effects. Reflux was out of control again and had to switch to 10mg Nexium 02/11/09. Good result so far.
Poor little thing. Hope Quinn get better soon. I hate to see our little ones cough so much. Oh btw, I found this homeopathic cold remedy that worked like a charm: oscillococcinum by Boiron. We used that at the 1st sign of symptom on our family last time and that helped so much. Matthew was still having post-nasal drop cough and threw up for a couple days but it was much better than the last time he got a cold. Big hugs!
