Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
I just got a call from my husband..he picked Z up at daycare...he had eaten two ounces which he threw up and then a few bites of sweet potato...he spent the whole day on MAYBE 20 calories??? His primary is out not feeling well and she will be on maternity leave soon...what the heck am I going to do. I just sent an email to the director asking about the interim primary...Zack may not look like it, but he has special needs...he doesn't get the option to refuse food...Oh my am I going to make up for almost 6 hours with no food? I'll be lucky if I get to 20 ounces today. SHIT (sorry)...Isn't the whole point of daycare to make me feel secure about leaving my baby?

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
I would for sure speak w/ the director. Being a former director myself....I know I would want to hear this.

What they can do is call you following a feeding (or you call them) to know how much he ate. If you feel he needs to eat more then they need to do so.

I am sorry they were not on top of this today... but maybe tomorrow they will be

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I work in childcare too. I totally get why you're upset. So sorry :) I'd def. talk to the director. Heck I just talked to a mgr about a bad sub sandwich. I know I'd talk to the director about my kid, lol.

Kathryn, Pager Volunteer and mommy to Emily Mia 02/04/07. 3 years old with GERD. 30mg Prevacid and Pepcid AC. Mylanta needed for flares. Failed prilosec med switch. Tried and failed many med weans but GERD and pain are well controlled. Functional constipation. Reoccurring SBBO. Suspected IBD or autoimmune disease. Resolved issues: MSPI, CSID (acquired), Stage 2 kidney reflux, Chronic diarrhea.
Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
did they say WHY they weren't feeding him more? did they tell your hubby that b/c they were worried? or did they tell him that only b/c he asked? I would wonder about the reason he wasn't eating and find out if it was his part or the day care workers. Maybe he's not feeling well. I'm sorry i know you are already frustrated with his meds not working... i meant to ask you in your other post if you ever got a barium swallow (upper GI) for him?? i think that or an endoscope would probably give more answers.*hugs*
