Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
Back to ReglanErythro was a big fat failure...did nothing. Gastrocrom cost me 200 bucks and it didn't work either (GI said it would be nearly immediate). Zack is puking up things 3 and 4 hours later. It royally sucks! Anyway, he wants him back on the Reglan that we think was actually helping jsut not to the "best" degree...but at least his puke wasn't happening hours later. We will start it again tonight...wish us luck ...again. (I know, sorry, wishing my kid luck is getting old).
Stool and blood samples came back negative for Celiac's and whatever else they tested for...still waiting for other allergy panel.
He wants to see us in 6 weeks to see if there is any improvement...if not...endoscopy. poo.
I think Z has a 16 mo checkup this week...please say a little prayer that he's gained some weight. We really need it...and to be honest I won't understand if he hasn't...we went from struggling to get 22 oz in to getting in 26-30 regularly the past three weeks. He's even doing some solids...those are coming up (three hrs later)...but i think the Reglan will help with that. he did 34 oz yesterday...and that's what STAYED in!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
|poor cute little future husband of Joslyn! (HEHE)|
He is just too cute!
I am sorry he is having problems again!
I am sending well wishes.... WEIGHT GAIN HOPES... and tons of burb bibs! hehe

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
|Sorry that you are having trouble with the meds. Maybe the reglan will get him back on track. Here's hoping for a nice weight gain and a good doctor appt.|
Try not to worry aoubt a scope. It gives such great information and can really put you on the right track. I was super scared too and it was no biggie.
